Sony Wants Warframe to Support Cross-Platform Play With PC

In a recent interview with Digital Extremes, VG24/7′s Dave Cook was able to learn some very interesting information involving the strong possibility of Warframe supporting cross-platform play between the PC and PS4 versions of the game.

Sinclair told Sony at the show that he wanted Warframe to be updated every week or two weeks, and that players would be able to team up with PC users using cross-platform. They agreed no questions asked. It surprised Sinclair as he initially feared there would be many political hurdles blocking his team’s ambition, particularly when cross-play was concerned. It was a non-issue for Sony.

Although cross-platform play has not been confirmed, it seems very likely that we will get an official announcement as we get closer to the release of the PlayStation 4. Sony’s willingness to allow this type of compatibility on their new console may be a hint, indicating plans to offer the PS4 as an affordable alternative to high-end gaming PCs.

Stay tuned to Fate of the Game for more.
